Our Mission Statement
After The Storm, Inc.'s mission is to assist cancer survivors heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually from the aftermath of their diagnosis and treatments and help restore balance to their lives.
How it all began!
At the age of 30, while pregnant with her second child, our founder, Christine Willett was diagnosed with Stage IIB breast cancer. She went through the whirlwind of treatment, which included surgery, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, radiation, and finally a clinical trial. Christine decided to try integrative medicine as part of her treatment, and found it to help immensely with the side effects. After the Storm, Inc. was founded in 2009 when Christine Willett gathered up her closest friends and family to help other survivors after their cancer diagnoses.
She became inspired to create this foundation after helping to raise funds for Life After the Storm, a documentary about young women that have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Christine started After the Storm Inc. with the dream of being able to help others heal after their ordeal.

Do Something That Really Matters!
The foundation holds several fundraising events during the year, with proceeds going to benefit integrative medicine programs that help cancer patients heal their mind, body and spirit. After The Storm, Inc. is committed to helping the survivor continue on the path from survival to embracing living again. To honor the foundation's creator and inspiration, percentage of our funds will be dedicated to the unique needs of breast cancer survivors.
After the Storm has selected Connecticut hospitals to receive funds to assist survivors with integrative medicine costs: The Center for Survivorship and Integrative Medicine at the Middlesex Cancer Center, Midstate Medical Center, and Griffin Hospital. After the Storm designated a total of $80,000 to be distributed to these organizations this year! Over $431,000 to date!
In order to be able to continue helping survivors, we are inviting you to participate in several ways. You may help by donating an item for raffle or auction or by becoming a sponsor of our events. In return, you will receive recognition at the event and on our website. All donations directly benefit the mission of the foundation.
